Our Family loves to dip veggies in creamy dip – ranch dip, blue cheese dip, onion dip, herb dip, spicy chipotle dip. Let’s be honest, low carb vegetables are so much easier to eat when they have that little bit of creamy goodness sitting on top of them.
My personal favorite dressing recipe was made with vegetable oil mayonnaise and “lite” sour cream. It is a basic dressing recipe that makes a perfect base for other flavorful dressings that fit easily into your meal planning.
When I started Keto, I quickly realized that my favorite family recipe that I had been using for years was not going to work anymore if I wanted to control my blood sugars and lupus inflammation using good healthy food. I had to switch out the “lite” sour cream to full fat sour cream also. The other incredients were fine – but I needed to find healthier ingredients.
I started researching keto mayo online and saw a lot of people talking about Primal Kitchen’s Avocado Mayo – I never knew there was such a thing, but ordered some from Amazon that day. Once it arrived, I hurried and made my favorite dressing – and it was wonderful.
This recipe has become my husbands favorite and mine too. We love it more than the original. I don’t eat it every single day, but it is a great way to add in some healthy fats to my diet.
A lot of people believe that Keto means giving up all your favorite foods. Yes, you will need to give up high carb foods, but eating a ketogenic diet is also about finding new ways to make your favorite recipes and find a new healthier life along the way.
