Low Carb Hamburger Soup

Homemade hamburger and vegetable soup.

  • Instant Pot
  • 2 lb hamburger (85% )
  • 1 cup white onion (1 medium onion diced)
  • 1 cup celery (approx 4 stalks diced )
  • 3 garlic (finely diced)
  • Salt (Real Salt recommended )
  • Black Pepper (coarse ground)
  • 1 can diced tomato
  • 1 cup turnips (approx 3 small turnips diced )
  • 1 Kettle and Fire Beef Bone Broth
  • 8 cups Water (to fill the pot )
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 tbsp Cholula (Hot Sauce – Optional )
  1. Brown hamburger in a large instant pot on the sauté setting.

  2. Add onion, celery, garlic, salt, pepper and turnips to meat and cook until onion starts to become translucent.

  3. Add in remaining ingredients, including enough water to fill the pot.

  4. Switch the instant pot setting to the soup setting for 45 minutes or until all the vegetables are tender and temperature reaches at least 165°F.

Salt and Pepper to taste.

If you don’t have an instant pot, you can also make this in a large slow cooker or a large dutch oven on the stove top.
